Camberley Theatre, a thriving performance venue in Camberley Surrey southwest of London, has recently undergone extensive refurbishment, including significant additions to its in-house lighting. A new installation of Elation Professional fixtures, supplied by Yes Events Ltd, provides maximum flexibility for this multipurpose community space.
The 408-seat theatre has replaced its house lights with the high-power, color-controllable Colour Pendant™ LED downlight. The 41-degree, totally silent LED unit provides rich saturated color wash to the auditorium for show use, as well as bright white light for maintenance. Visiting shows now have full control of the color of the entire venue, meaning they can more easily immerse the audience in the performance.
In addition to the Colour Pendants, the venue has turned to Elation for its on-stage color too, where 16 SixPar 200™ LED Par units provide a vivid top wash as part of the standard venue rig. “The SixPars have been well received by all visiting companies due to their almost limitless color palette, including UV,” said Tom Chennells of Yes Events Ltd, the Elation partner that provided all the units to the Camberley Theatre. “This removes the need for high-power dedicated UV units, which are expensive to run and take a long time to come to full brightness.” Platinum Spot 5R Pro™ fixtures fulfil moving spot duties at Camberley with their small size, wide zoom range and versatile color mixing system.
Yes Events Ltd also supplied a significant amount of Elation fixtures for Camberley Theatre’s successful 2016 pantomime “Cinderella” in December, which featured Platinum Spot 15R Pro™ and SixPar 200 fixtures along with the Fuze Wash Z350™, Elation’s new single source PAR moving head with 350W RGBW COB LED and 10° to 55° zoom.
