Elation Introduces FlexLED Tape
3M Adhesive-Backed LED Circuit Strip
LOS ANGELES - Now you can stick colored and white LED lights on signs, displays, room surfaces -- anywhere! - as quickly and easily as you can put tape on a package. Elation Professional has introduced FlexLED Tape, a very thin and flexible LED circuit strip with SMD LEDs on the front and 3M adhesive glue on the back.
Available on spools, Flex LED Tape can be cut into strips of desired length. Installation is a breeze; the strips are simply “taped” wherever you want to put them, where they will be held securely in place by their 3M adhesive backing, a product known to stick to virtually any type of surface.
FlexLED Tape is available in an RGB color-changing version (FLEX RGB), as well as the following single color versions: red (FLEX R), green (FLEX G), blue (FLEX B), yellow (FLEX Y), warm white (FLEX WW), and cool white (FLEX CW). The RGB version comes on a 10 spool consisting of 60 x 2” black circuit strips, each holding 3 SMD LED chips for a total of 180 LEDs. Single color spools are 20 in length with 120 x 2” white circuit strips, each with 3 LED chips for a total of 360 LEDs.
Because the circuit strips are 2” in length, FlexLED Tape can be cut every 2 inches. This gives users great flexibility and accuracy in sizing the strips to their required length. Whats more, the strips can be put back together seamlessly using simple soldering techniques. This allows you to create LED strips in combined colors for, say, a business logo, school or team colors, holiday décor (red, white & blue for the 4th of July), or any customized client need.
The Flex RGB version provides the enhanced feature of RGB color changing. An optional infrared wireless remote controller is available, model WR LED (sold separately), allowing users to change colors, select one of 16 static colors, and run color fades and color snap programs. If more than ten 10 pieces are being run with the WR LED controller, an optional signal amplifier is required, model FLEX RGBA (sold separately).
The Flex RGB or single color versions can also be run with an ELAR Driver 8 and ELAR Driver 1 DMX controller (available separately from Elation Architectural), providing custom RGB color mixing with up to 16.7 million color choices or DMX dimming of the single color spools.
Featuring the high output and low heat production of LED technology, along with fast and easy installation, FlexLED Tape is ideal for a variety of applications. “These thin, flexible and versatile LED strips can go anywhere,” said Eric Loader, director of sales for Elation Professional. “Theyre great for retail displays, galleries, signs, stage sets, interior design and architectural applications. Their thinness and flat-back adhesive mounting makes them a perfect solution for coves, small narrow crevices, and areas where there isnt much clearance.”
FlexLED Tape features a long chip life rated at 30,000 hours. The Flex RGB versions 10 spool has a total power consumption of 43 watts, and its power supply is UL and CSA approved. The single color versions are direct wire 12v from any standard 12v DC power supply, with a total power consumption of 86 watts per spool. FlexLED Tape measures 0.45”W x 0.005”D.
The MSRP of the Flex RGB version is $799.95 for a 10 spool. The MSRP for each of the single color versions is $599.95 for a 20 spool. The MSRP of the WR LED controller is $19.95.
