TRI-ing Harder!
Elations Opti Tri Par Brings Breakthrough
Tri-Color LED Technology To Popular Stage Light
LOS ANGELES - Some might call it the best of both worlds -- Elation Professional has combined its breakthrough Tri-Color LED Technology with its popular compact-profile Opti stage par can, introducing the new Opti Tri Par. A trim, DMX-controllable high-output RGB theatrical light with 18 x 3W LEDs, the Opti Tri Par will outshine bigger, more energy-hungry par cans in theaters, churches, concerts, productions, displays, runways - anywhere color-changing stage lighting is needed.
Thanks to its cutting-edge Tri-Color LED Technology, the Opti Tri Par produces superior mixed colors to those created by conventional LED RGB par cans. Each of the Opti Tri Pars 3W LEDs is actually a 3-in-1 lamp, comprised of 3 different-colored LEDs -- 1W red, 1W green and 1W blue. This tri-color lamp design, which is exclusive to Elation, allows RGB colors to be created within each individual lens, so that all 18 lamps remain on during the color-mixing process. The result is smoother, more even mixed colors, without the distracting multi-color shadows that tend to appear around objects illuminated by RGB fixtures with single-color LED lamps.
“We are very pleased to offer our popular Opti stage light with new, advanced Tri-Color LED Technology,” said Eric Loader, director of sales for Elation Professional. “This technology is a vast improvement over single-color LED RGB fixtures, where if you were mixing, say, the color magenta, only the red and blue lamps would be on and the green lamps would be turned off. By contrast, if you were creating magenta with the Opti Tri Par, all 18 lamps would remain on and only the green LED within each lamp would be off. One look is all it takes is to notice the huge difference this makes in the quality of the mixed colors, enhanced clarity and amplified brightness.”
Another advantage of tri-color technology is that it creates a better range of white colors. Thus, it was not necessary to add an amber or white LED to the Opti Tri Par, which would have limited its primary color output, and its another reason for the units superior brightness. Featuring flicker-free operation, along with its evenly-blended colors and high-quality whites, the Opti Tri Par is ideal for video production, too.
Although its tri-color technology is brand-new, the Opti Tri Par features the same uniquely-shaped compact design that has made Elations Opti Series par cans so popular. It measures just 11.5”L x 8.5”W x 8.5”H and weighs only 11 lbs., allowing it to fit into tight spaces and be transported with ease. Housed in a rugged die cast case, its durable enough to stand up to the rigorous demands of road use and rental applications. Additionally, with ETL approval pending, the Opti Tri Par will soon be suitable for installations where certification is required.
The Opti Tri Par can be operated in two DMX modes - 3-channel or 7-channel - as well as in Stand Alone and Master/Slave modes. It includes a dimmer, variable strobe and built-in color macros to match popular gel colors. All are selectable via the LCD 4 button display on the fixture.
Although it can produce an infinite range of eye-popping colors, the Opti Tri Par is strictly “green” when it comes to energy savings. Consuming only 54W total power, it will significantly cut electricity costs when used in place of conventional par cans. An extremely cool operating temperature is another big advantage of the Opti Tri Pars LED technology.
The Opti Tri Par includes 5-pin DMX connections, “locking” IEC power cord, multi-voltage power supply, _” jack for remote blackout / footswitch option and a versatile dual yoke bracket for hanging or floor mounting. The MSRP of the Opti Tri Par is $999.95.
