A Lighter Wash Load!
Elations Power Wash 575E Features New Electronic Ballast
For Lighter Weight, Less Amperage Draw
LOS ANGELES - When Elation Professional first introduced the Power Wash 575, the DMX moving head CMY color wash was hailed as a breakthrough in 575-watt fixtures because of its extremely compact size. Although it blasted out a roaring 575 watts of power, and was brilliant enough to handle large concert halls and arenas, the Power Wash 575 was no bigger than a typical 250-watt moving head fixture, making it extremely portable and easy to handle.
Now Elation has reduced the proportions of this popular high-output moving head wash even further, with the introduction of the Power Wash 575E. The upgraded version has a new electronic ballast (hence the “E”), in place of the previous - heavier -- magnetic ballast. Because the electronic ballast is much lighter, the Power Wash 575E weighs in at an impressive 20 pounds less than its predecessor!
“The original Power Wash 575 was regarded as a very small unit for its massive output, because it had a unique compact case design that was about the size of a 250-watt moving head,” said John Lopez, national sales manager for Elation Professional. “Now we have made it even more portable by lowering its weight to a mere 42 lbs. through the use of an electronic ballast.”
With its trimmed-down weight, the Power Wash 575E is even easier than before to transport from show to show, set up and work with at venues. This convenience, coupled with the Power Wash 575Es whopping 575 watts of brightness, makes the unit ideal not only for large clubs, churches and other permanent installations, but also for touring productions, stage shows, arena music concerts - any application where both portability and high output are required.
The Power Wash 575E is also perfect for the rental market, providing an ultra-bright color wash in an easy-to-handle package. “The Power Wash 575E should open new profit opportunities for rental houses,” said Lopez. “They can offer their customers a unit thats got enough power for very large theaters and arenas, but is also very easy to transport.”
Lighter weight isnt the only advantage of the new Power Wash 575E. Its electronic ballast can automatically sense voltage amounts, from 90-250 volts, allowing the Power Wash 575E to be used anywhere in the world without modification.
The automatic voltage sensing feature also makes it possible to run more fixtures from an electrical current. “For example, a 575-watt fixture will typically draw 8 or 9 amps at 220 volts,” explained Lopez. “But the Power Wash 575E will draw about 4-1/2 amps at 220 volts, or half that amount, so you can run twice as many units.”
Along with its new electronic ballast, the Power Wash 575E still has all the features that made the original so great for splashing large venues with an infinite range of brilliant colors. It utilizes a CMY color mixing system that allows users to create virtually any color in the spectrum, with ultra-smooth transitions from one hue to the next. Equipped with 9 dichroic colors plus white, the Power Wash 575E also features a UV filter, and is capable of producing continuous scrolling colors.
As a moving head fixture, the Power Wash 575E shoots colors in all directions, providing the far-reaching 3D coverage required for large venues. Featuring 16 bit resolution, it has a maximum pan movement of 540° and maximum tilt movement of 280°.
In addition to its super-output 575-watt lamp, the Power Wash 575E is equipped with a high output luminous-efficiency parabolic mirror and glass dichroic reflector, which further amplify its intense brightness. A 150mm Fresnel lens, 8-degree -22-degree motorized zoom, and 180° beam shaper are also included
The 15-channel Power Wash 575E can be programmed with any standard DMX controller, or it can be run stand-alone in sound active mode to built-in programs. Up to 16 units can be linked together master-slave to produce a synchronized light show.
Other features include: a 4-digit LED display, mechanical dimming 0-100%, mechanical high speed shutter and pulse effect, and built-in microphone with sensitivity knob for sound-active mode. Extremely compact, the Power Wash 575E weighs only 42 lbs. and measures 17”L x 17”W x 15”H.
The suggested retail price of the Power Wash 575E is $4,599.95.
