Elation lighting fixtures took center stage at two major summer festivals in Italy’s Veneto region in July, with the Paragon S, Rebel Wash 12, and Rebel Line 16 delivering dynamic looks and reliable performance at Bassano Music Park and Mirano Summer Festival. Elation is distributed exclusively in Italy by Prase.
The two events presented very different production environments but shared a requirement for high-performance, versatile fixtures capable of delivering impactful looks in demanding outdoor conditions. At Bassano Music Park, Lighting Designer and Project Manager Marco Renica of rental company Cipiesse selected 36 Paragon S profile moving heads alongside 32 Rebel Wash 12 fixtures. At the Mirano Summer Festival, Mazzon Service handled audio, video, and lighting and deployed Elation’s Rebel Line 16 tilt bars on the main stage.
Paragon S Brings Power and Flexibility to Bassano
Now in its third edition, Bassano Music Park brings national and international artists to the city of Bassano del Grappa. Organized by DuePunti Eventi in collaboration with the City of Bassano del Grappa, this year’s festival featured Italian artists and international stars including Tommaso Paradiso, Rod Stewart, and Sting.
Cipiesse deployed 36 Paragon S moving heads across four trusses along with 12 additional units positioned on the floor. A further 32 Rebel Wash 12 fixtures were mounted on side and rear trusses, providing powerful, colorful wash coverage and aerial effects.
For LD Marco Renica, the award-winning Paragon S was a proven choice. He had previously used the fixture on a tour where the production presented particularly challenging conditions and was impressed enough to specify it for the festival.
“I had already tested the Paragon S on a tour where we were working in very unique situations, and I was very satisfied with them—we were using all profile luminaires on a very complex show—so I chose to use them for this festival as well.”
Powerful Performance Without the Weight
The fixture’s output was another major attraction. With up to 20,500 lumens, the Paragon S provides the intensity needed to compete with the scale and brightness of a major outdoor festival production. “They have excellent light output, and they’re IP-rated, another crucial factor given the outdoor venue and the fact that the show must go on even in bad weather.”
The Paragon S combines its high output with a compact, lightweight design, an important consideration when building large temporary structures. At 22.5 kg, the fixture helped Renica and the production team manage the structural demands of the festival’s truss system. “I also chose the Paragon S because of its weight, which was a key consideration from the start when performing the engineering and structural calculations for the trusses, load-bearing capacity assessments, and so on.”
The Rebel Wash 12 full-spectrum moving-head luminaires complemented the profile fixtures with broad, even washes, rich RGBL color, high output, and mid-air beam effects, giving the lighting system a versatile combination of profile and wash capabilities.
Rebel Line 16 Energizes Mirano Summer Festival
Only a short distance from Venice, the Mirano Summer Festival transformed the city of Mirano into a 20-day destination for concerts and live performances. Now in its 20th edition, the multi-genre festival featured a diverse lineup of Italian artists.
Mazzon Service was responsible for the event’s audio, video, and lighting and selected Elation Rebel Line 16 fixtures as a dynamic visual backdrop for the stage. The latest addition to Elation’s linear tilt bar range, the one-meter Rebel Line 16 combines 16 individually controlled RGBL cells that materialize beautifully in haze. Added white SparkX LEDs generate striking cool-white crisscross aerial effects over the RGBL background, opening up new creative possibilities for dynamic looks.
The Rebel Line’s continuous lens system maintains beam continuity across the fixture’s full length, while a 4°–35° zoom range and 210° of tilt movement allow designers to quickly shift between tight aerial looks, wider washes, and sweeping movement effects. With an IP55 rating, the fixture is also suited to the demands of outdoor festival production.
Together, the Elation Paragon and Rebel fixtures gave production teams at the two Veneto festivals the output, color versatility, dynamic effects, and weather protection needed to create impactful looks—important qualities for demanding large-scale outdoor productions.
